Question #10: What problem are we solving?

You walk into a conference room. There is a large table in the room surrounded by chairs. There are a bunch of chairs along the wall but you grab a seat at the table. More and more people start coming into the room. Some grab a seat at the table and some sit along the wall. You observe all those who enter until everyone is settled.

The meeting kicks off and the discussion begins. The leader begins by asking a question or describing the problem to be solved. Sometimes there is a strong personality who dominates the meeting. Or maybe there is someone who disagrees with decisions being made and feels the need to be the negative voice in every situation. Without strong leadership the meeting can quickly jump from one topic to another as different personalities are trying to achieve different objectives.

“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.”

– John C. Maxwell
